The Dogwood Addition at Mission St. Joseph’s is a collaboration with Padgett & Freeman Architects located in Asheville, North Carolina. This six-story addition above grade provides a new Surgery Services entrance for the Registration, Family Waiting, and Same Day Discharge Units. The addition also provides 11 new operating rooms and five future operating rooms. One floor is dedicated to 28 Neuro Trauma ICU beds. Another floor is shelled for future ICU/Med-Surgery beds. Also, two additional partial floors are below grade for future connectivity and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Utility Systems to the North Campus. This project was designed for a five-floor vertical expansion for Med/Surg or ICU beds. Preparation work required for the Dogwood Project included modification to the Heart Center entrance, a new patient discharge canopy, and an underground utility spine.
